May 06, 2009· At the time I didn't have a 3/4" carbide end mill. Luckily I was doing the feed by hand, so I was aware of the increase in feed pressure needed to cut the graphite. The HSS mill felt and looked sharp, but would not cut, even with high feed pressure. The HSS mill made it to about 25 holes before it was completely unable to cut the graphite.
